Video Hypnosis with CHILDREN

Video Hypnosis for Children

Hello,

Therapeutic hypnosis offers a gentle and playful approach to helping children cope with various emotional, behavioral, or relationship issues.

As technology and healthcare practices evolve, online hypnosis consultations via video offer a convenient and effective alternative to in-person sessions and are becoming an increasingly popular option for parents and children.

Here are some details about video hypnosis sessions with children, how they work, and how to use them.

Hypnosis with Children: A Natural and Effective Approach

Before deciding whether an in-person or video consultation is best for you, why use hypnosis with children?

Children have boundless imaginations; they often move between the real and imaginary worlds, especially when they play or listen to stories, which makes them more receptive to hypnosis. The hypnotherapist will use this ability to easily enter a hypnotic state to guide the child toward solutions tailored to his or her difficulties.

The Benefits of Hypnosis for Children

Hypnosis helps children tap into their internal resources to overcome their difficulties, using age-appropriate techniques such as metaphors, stories, or games.

Therapeutic hypnosis can, for example, help children to:

  • Better Managing Stress and Anxiety Symptoms
  • Building Self-Confidence
  • Overcoming Their Fears and Better Managing the Symptoms of Phobias
  • Help promote a more restful sleep
  • Improving social relationships at school, boosting attention or academic motivation…

The hypnotherapist will tailor their tools and techniques to the child's age, personality, and interests.
In fact, it’s usually the child who comes up with their favorite fictional characters or animals, symbols, or metaphors.
Sessions may include drawing, games, or interactive stories, which help engage the child in the therapeutic process.

The Benefits of Online Hypnosis Sessions for Children

Parents are often surprised that we offer video hypnosis sessions with children.

And yet, it has many advantages.

  • A familiar and reassuring environment

A hypnosis session at home allows the child to be in a familiar setting, which can make it easier for them to engage in the therapeutic process.
He feels safe, surrounded by his familiar surroundings, which can reduce the anxiety associated with a doctor's office visit.

  • Improved Concentration for Children During Hypnosis Sessions

For children, a screen is often already a common way to communicate with their family or friends, and they find it very natural.

And surprisingly, children are often more focused when working with a hypnotherapist via a screen.
They may be less likely to get distracted or change the subject by using objects or items in a real-life office setting.

  • Greater flexibility for families

Online consultations offer great flexibility in terms of scheduling and logistics. Schedules are often more flexible, which is convenient for families with busy schedules.

And it eliminates the need to travel, which is very convenient for families who live far from medical clinics or who, on the other hand, want to avoid rush-hour traffic in cities.

In addition, this provides access to hypnotherapists who specialize in pediatric hypnosis—hypnosis for children—even if they are not located nearby.

  • Easier tracking:

Remote sessions allow for regular therapeutic follow-up, even in the event of unforeseen circumstances such as strikes, illness, or vacations. They thus ensure a level of consistency that is beneficial to the effectiveness of the treatment.

At Solutions Hypnose, we offer video consultations for children ages 6 and up.

Video Hypnosis for Children

Preparing for a remote hypnosis session with a child:

It is very important that the child be willing to participate in the process.
You can show them the introductory video of the hypnotherapist from Solutions Hypnose that you selected on our website.
Or even videos from several potential partners, so that your child can choose the person he or she wants to meet.
If your child isn't ready for this, don't force them—maybe it will happen later…

From a technical standpoint, to maximize the effectiveness of a remote session, it is recommended that you:

  • Choose a quiet, comfortable place for the child, free from distractions
  • Make sure you have a good internet connection and that your equipment (computer, tablet, webcam, microphone) is working properly and is plugged into a power outlet to prevent it from shutting down due to a dead battery.
  • Use a device with a working camera and microphone
  • Explain to the child how the session will proceed and answer any questions they may have to put them at ease (here, too, watching the hypnotherapist’s introductory video will help them arrive well-informed and calm).

What happens during an online hypnosis session for a child?

A remote hypnosis session generally follows the same steps as one conducted in the office:

Initial Interview :
The hypnotherapist talks with the child and his or her parents to understand the issue and define the goals of the therapeutic hypnosis process.
Parents are present at the beginning of the session but usually step aside to let the child interact freely with the therapist.
Except for the youngest children, who sometimes want to stay with the parent who is present.

Hypnosis Session :
Unlike sessions with adults, the hypnotherapist will likely not use a formal induction into a hypnotic state (such as relaxing, closing the eyes, etc.), especially with children who are hyperactive or simply curious about what’s happening.
The first goal is to build a connection with the child, to understand their inner world—their superheroes, favorite animals, and favorite stories or fairy tales—and then to use this information to tap into the child’s inner resources.
For more details, you can watch the video by our partner Lucie Piat at Hypnosis for Children.

Feedback :
After the session, a discussion allows us to gather the child's feedback and adjust our support as needed.
This usually involves working with parents to explain the metaphors or stories used, so that the work can continue at home with them.
However, some children or teenagers prefer not to involve their parents too much in the process, in which case the debriefing will be very brief.
